toe is completely right about your moderation techniques. if its free to the public to be here, there needs to be a moderator who is extremely careful about what he/she is deleting, modifying and editing. that will offend the majority of the people who will make your group grow. i was a little annoyed to see that the general web surfing public cannot look at the hardcore forum, but that kind of parental controlling from you, should have had more free reign to say what you want. its irritating to not be on the site for 2 days then come back and not be able to read a damn thread the way it grew naturally, because of the deleting and covering up you did. it is COMPLETELY UNDERSTOOD to everyone who reads the hadcrore forum that the opinions expressed on the hardcore forum are soley the opinon of the author of the post. there should be absolutely no reason for you to delete the content of anyones post about anything and paste in your little passage about reno4x4 not condoning illegal activity. its understood and should not ever by any means be deleted.

there are other vehicle violations by the state of nevada, DMV and clean air laws that should be edited and/or removed by your logic. a thread about how to get around smog test laws in the state of NV to me is about as illegal as someone wheeling with a beer or bottle of jack in their hands.

Also, NevadaXJ has a lot better clue of what it takes to run a website than you could hope to know. When reno4x4 decides it needs a set of rules set upon by its users, you'll be the first person we contact. Until then, I would suggest you just adapt quietly to the changes. We've lost ONE person in the last week--who I hope will come back as soon as he realizes we aren't out to get him. We lost at least 10 times that when the hardcore forum first came about.

I'm sure there's a part in there about where we can terminate your use of the forum at any time for any reason. I dont disagree that its not a good idea to have rules that everyone agrees by, but until such a time comes, the rules set down by the owner and moderators will be the ones we follow.

If you're going to worry about a little censorship on a non-professional web forum it might indicate you have bigger problems in your life you need to solve.

You guys need to all just give this a break. Reno4x4 is still in its infancy and it will have a few hiccoughs as it tries to find its path. Just sit back, contribute, and bring up problems you have with the community--which you've been doing, and it's working. If I was truely the censor-nazi you guys all think I am, wouldent it have been much easier for me to just ban you and move on? In reality, the issues you guys bring up DO get acknowledged and discussed. There's alot of work that goes into makign sure this forum stays up and runs smoothly. Just give us the time to do it.

your post made more sense to me. i understand everything you said, and i know a bit more than you seem like your trying to convey i know. ive been here for a long time, and will continue to be here for what i hope to be a long time in the future. theres nothing more that would make me happier than to see this foum grow gargantuan. the fact that i actually am a mobile advertisement for reno4x4 says so. i am here to contribute and give my opinion. i am more than willing to share what i know about modifying, and wheeling, and trails. this is obvious.

my simple point to you that im making and hope to see go into action is for you to be a bit more careful in the method you use to control the actual group of real individuals that represent this site. i would take more time to discuss and come to a consensus that we all agree on as far as a code of conduct that makes everyone happy. im overall satisfied with the conduct that ive witnessed over the past few months, and it may be because of my being more open minded and more difficult to offend then some of the socially inept people on this board. what makes me frown is seeing inconsistencies in moderation. moderating alcohol and illegal ground distruction (or so we're lead to believe) should take about as much seriousness as what is legal and what is not to the governments branches' laws on vehicles. the converse is true. vehicle violations should be about as important as the method of which some people here enjoy wheeling.

enough though; i have made my point, and stand behind it.

a lot more people wouldnt have to worry if they would understand more of what is going on in the HC forum. there are people here who still have little grasp as to what constitutes a true beef as opposed to ball busting. i know for a fact that there is not one person on this board who is honestly anything more than completely harmless. the issue is when people take it the wrong way and get butthurt by a little heat thrown their way. maybe those chickensh!t people SHOULD go back home. sell their jeep that takes them outdoors into the real world, and wilderness. buy a honda, go and play videogames all day. i emplore these people to show me a reality that involves nothing more than pissplay games and sugar coated imagination.

IF YOU INSIST ON DOING A 9 & A 44,YOU COULD DO THE 45 SPLINE AXLE UPGRADE ON THE 9" AND CHROMO THE 44.I THINK THAT WOULD HOLD UP PRETTY GOOD,I USED TO HAVE THE SAME AXLES BUT WITH STOCK SHAFTS AND I ALWAYS BROKE REAR SHAFTS AND FRONT EARS!:yes: :D

Joe, did you have problems w/ your ujoints being in the way on the rear drive shaft. I was reading in jeep mag that this is the only problem w/ the 9" They started hauling all my rigs away at the dump, no dana 60 or ford 8.8. If they didnt get the chevy towed yet I will have a dana 44 front and a ford 9. I was considering what you said. I can get pretty good deals at Randys on yukon axles so I would build the front end up w/ those. How many splines does the stocker ford 9 come w/?? Damn newbie I know.

BTW: what size tires were you running when you had that setup, also gears, and anything else?

Thanks for the info. The 9 is going to come out of a f250 or f350. Wasnt quite sure what model it was, but a diesel lates 80's early 90's. Whats weird is the front is an ifs which sucks. What tires, gears, lockers did you run?:dunno:
