Carb Problems

I took my new boat out for a spin on saturday and it was running fat as hell. When I would turn, it would lose power. Also, when I would open up the throttle all the way, it would stumble and die. WHat could be the cause of this problem?

How long has it sat before running? Bad fuel...Bad spark plugs...car and rotor...also check the steering linkage, on my boat it came loose and the cable for the steering would shift and bind with the throttle...just a thought....

might be the plugs, it ran great 2 weekends ago...it was run on a regular basis.

It is an edelbrock boat carb. It has a Ford 351 in it.

WILLS BOAT DID HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM HE WENT TO SUMMIT AND WENT AND BAUGHT THE MARINE HOLLEY FOR IT. THEN CHANGED THE PLUGS WIRES AND CAP AND ADJUSTED THE TIMING A LITTLE IT STILL DOESNT RUN PERFECT BUT IT DOES THE JOB. BOATS ARE NOTHING BUT A HEDACHE YOU THOUGHT YOUR 4 RUNNER WAS BAD WAIT UNTILL NEXT BOATING SEASON! SORRY ABOUT THE THREAD JACKIN I WAS AND STILL AM IN A SHITTY MOOD:mad:

Update...
I took the boat out on this past weekend. It ran awesome on saturday, but on sunday it ran horrible. I took the air cleaner off, at WOT the primaries were spewing gas but the secondaries weren't opening up, what could cause this?
