Well I fianlly pulled the cover off today to take a look at the rearend and the oil came out with a metallic finish....pretty but not a good sign. The pinion gear exploded....just flat stripped all the teeth of. So i am gonna need a new ring and pinion gear for the 8.8. Time to get out the credit card and call Randys. Any ideas as to why it exploded? Too much slack on set-up? Possibly just too much lead foot? It exploded on twister and i was screwing around in two wheel drive so maybe just one of those things....Anyone got a side bearing puller i can use? I need to shim this thing correctly the next time....

 What about upgrading to a 9" ??? I know it isn't the best but it sure beats a 8.8.... I am sure I can ask and get you one reasonably priced... Could always score a 14 bolt full floater (cheap and tough) the front 60 is a different story tho' thats why I don't have one yet...

I got a 14 bolt...although its in Cali at my dads house...but i am just bidding my time for now. I will just throw a new set in and be done with it. My wife is mad cause those tires and rims are only like eight months old (most of that time sitting parked and broken) so she gets pissed when i say i am gonna get new ones....the bronco isn't a very popular subject around the houslehold....but i am sure many of the married guys here now what i am talking about.....

And hopefully someday I will get those elusive rockwells....so I can be like the Ape and build a foolsize proparly...altough i ain't gonna back half the bronco...mostly cause I don't wanna get mad fun of like PJ!

iT WOULD BE CHEAPER TO PUT THAT 14 BOLT IN, THAN TO PUT R & P IN THE 8.8. JUST BUY 15" 8 LUG RIMS FOR THE REAR.

I will probably be coming up to LUMPALOOZA 2007 so if you need me to pick up that axle and bring it up I would be happy to.

I gotta make a trip down there and pick up a bunch of stuff. I got some transmissions, front axles rear axles fender wiring kits.....all for chevy so it wont do me any good but maybe some of you guys can find a good home for it. My dad wants his yard cleaned up. After winter I figure!:Big Grin:
