Alright I thought I found a good write up of a guy moving his spring mounts forward 6.5": said it would give my shackle perfect angle. well here was what I came up with:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c252/dmills01/Picturesgroup1028.jpg

I was trying to keep the shackle mount fixed because I tend to bob the bed soon. Do you guys think I should move the spring mount forward some more or adjust the shackle mount? I'm thinkin just weld the shackle mount about
2" back but wanted to get others opinions...Any help appreciated.

Is the tire centered in the wheelwell? If so, I would move the shackle hangers back. If not, I would move the front spring hangers. At least you only tacked them in place, that was smart.

I think longer shackles would make it too high. I mean these are 8.5" long already  I think moving the shackle mounts back about 2" or so will make it perfect

YOU COULD PROBALLY GO 8-9 INCHES AND GET A LITTLE MORE OF A SHACKLE ANGLE BUT I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH MINE

YOTA: Would I still get the same flex out of these springs if I simply left them and just moved the shackle hangers back a couple inches?

I DONT SEE WHY NOT BUT WHY CHANGE SOMETHING THAT WE ALL KNOW WORKS? YOU JUST TACKED YOUR FRONT HANGERS WHY NOT JUST MOVE THEM FORWARD AND SWITCH THE SPRINGS? :fight:

Alright Duncan....I relocated my leafs, turned around like you said, and I made them 8.5" instead of the 6.5" I had before. Here are the results:

HAVE YOU PUT THE DUAL CASES IN

Haven't put the cases in yet...still need to figure out what to do for a cross member....And I also need to put my buckets in so when I cut up my floor, the shifter doesn't hit my bench seat.

MARLIN SELLS A PRETTY SICK CROSSMEMBER THAT BOLTS IN OR THERE ARE SOME OTHER WAYS TO MAKE THE STOCK ONE WORK (WHICH IS WHAT I DID)

Well I really liked the way Dr. Smash had his flush mounted, but pretty pricey the way he has it. The main thing I want is one with higher clearance...I now the All-Pro cross member is 1 3/4" higher up than stock...the Marlin cross member doesn't say....

Marlin's is a ripoff of Budbuilt's crossmember. I would just go Budbuilt and support the innovator. You can order them with less drop if you have a body lift or want to cut the tranny tunnel to tuck up the transfer case. I have a Front Range Off Road crossmember and they are really nice also, but a little more expensive and involved to install compared to the Budbuilt.

i second that, i have a Budbuilt w/1.5"lift and love it. if you want to look at it before you buy one let me know.

A 1.5" lift and do you have a body lift or anything? Because I do not have a body lift and I only see cutting up my trannel tunnel if I'm going to flush mount it. The All-Pro crossmember has a 1 3/4" lift on it and was thinking that route...just don't know how sturdy they are. I would like to check it out sometime if you don't mind
