So I am about to start linking the 4runner, and want to make sure I have all of my shit together. I am running the RE HD builder joints on one end and the Superflex bushings on the other end of the links. I plan on running the heim at the frame end and the bushing at the axle end b/c I want the whole suspension to move, not just the axle. Does anyone see a problem with this or think I should do it the other way around. If you need to know more about the runner let me know.

DO YOU DRIVE THIS ON THE ROAD???WHY NOT JOINTS AT EACH END???I HAVE ALWAYS USED JOINTS AT BOTH ENDS SO THERE WOULD BE NO BIND AT ALL!!!!I THOUGHT GUYS WERE USING BUSHINGS AT ONE END TO ISOLATE ROAD NOISE(FOR A STREET DRIVEN RIG??).

Or save money, joints add up quick! (or so I have heard  )

For street driven vehicles I have always seen guys put the rubber bushings at the frame side to isolate noise and vibration and the rod end at the axle side.

It will not be driven on the road ever!!! I wanted to do joints/bushings to save on costs. Even with using joints/bushings I will still be approx $3k into linking the truck front and rear and probably another $500.00 into the dumb shit you always forget!!! Do you guys really think the bushings cause enought bind for me to notice with the weight of my axles.

This has been discussed on Pirate before and I've always read the consensous before that having bushing on one end and flex joint on other does not cause the suspension to bind. Of course I guess that depends on how much your shit flexes. I also think that keeping the joint on the frame end would be better since it will most likely be kept out of all the crap the axle end sees.

LINKING A RIG IS EXPENSIVE!!!!I WOULD TRY THE BUSHINGS.IF THEY WEAR OUT FAST OR BIND ENOUGH TO NOTICE THEN PUT HEIMS IN THEIR PLACE!!!!!!

The bushings "seem" pretty stout. They are not the ORD squishy ass blowout bushings. They have an hourglass shape and the rubber part needs to be pressed in to the sleeve and then they have a high misalignment style inner sleeve. I will give them a shot and see how they hold up. FYI, those new RE hd joints are dope, they did away with the c-clip and still kept them semi-reasonably priced. I think they were like $50.00 compared to the $20.00 for a bushing. I will report back.

Those are the ones!!! They are super beef for the money. They are big enought to run with 2" tube and you can get them for a 9/16th or 3/4 inch bolt. I hope to not break these, cause the EVO inch and a quarters are so much more expensive.
