Does anyone have a recommendation for a plasma cutter that is reasonably priced but decent quality. I dont need to cut anything super thick, maybe 3/8 at most. I will be getting one to do my 4-link, but I dont need some top of the line deal that I have to refi my house for. Just something that will do what I need it to in the garage, but not some HF piece of shit either. What are you guys using, what do you like about your model and what do you hate about it, links or model numbers would be super helpful!!!

In have a Miller Spectrum 375. It has been big enough for everything that I have done so I have been happy with it. I haven't done 3/8, the thickest I have done is 1/4" but it works fine for that. Ordered it from Cyberweld, they have quick shipping and the cheapest prices that I found.
I have heard good things about Hypertherm as well but do not have any firsthand experience with them.

I HAVE BEEN USING THROTTLES (edit:miller 2050) AND IT IS BAD ASS MORE THAN ENOUGH POWER TO CUT 1 INCH PLATE(YOU DIDNT THINK THROTTLE TRUGGY WASNT GONNA BE REALLY BULLET-PROOF???)AND CLEAN.I HAVE USED THE HYPERTHERM 1000 AND IT HAS PLENTY OF POWER!!!!BUT THE 375 HYPERTHERM OR MILLER WOULD BE PLENTY OF POWER TO GET IT DONE,THEY'LL DO 3/8s CLEAN YOU JUST CANT EXPECT HOT KNIFE THROUGH BUTTER PERFORMANCE AT THAT THICKNESS!!!!

I know this is from harbor freight, but due to my recent single status I dont yet have my funds back to an acceptable level. Can I get some honest opinions, I dont really know what I am looking for so I cant tell what sucks and what doesnt, but I would like to stay under $2k.

Im pretty sure that I will go with the spectrum 2050 because the spectrum 1000 really really seems like overkill for what I will be doing. Thanks to everyone for your feedback, I will let you know when I get it how much I love it.

I think I might have a problem with Milcrawl and Hoolizuk with my rig and the new cutter, they have already been plotting cutting everything and then I have to buld a buggy. Too bad I love the sound of sheetmetal screaming for its life!!!

I know this may be an old thread but on my CNC Plasma table I use the HyperTherm 1250. Blue Torch uses the same one as a matter of fact. I also have a Holbart Air Force 250?? I think thats the model for small crap and it does ok.
