Does anyone have any pics of flipped rockwell hubs. I need to be narrower, and want to flip my hubs, but I just cant picture it. I dont have my rig at my house and would like to mull this over for a while before starting in on it. A write up would be killer, but beggars cant be choosers.

OK WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO IT REMOVE THE SPINDLE STUDS AND GO TO BOLTS OR DO LIKE I DID AND COUNTERSINK THE SPINDLE HOLES AND USE COUNTERSUNK BOLTS. THEN YOU HAVE TO MOVE THE LUG STUDS TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HUB AND REASSEMBLE THATS IT. I THINK I HAVE PICS AT HOME BUT MY COMPUTER IS FUCKED UP

Not the greatest pic. All I have though. After stripping all the way down to the knuckle I replaced all the studs that hold the spindle on with 3/8-16x 1in. bolts, 16 per side. Next take the hub and drive all the lug studs out. Then reinstall them on the opposite side of the hub. Each one of the lug studs will need the shoulder ground off of it also. This way when the hub is reinstalled it wont interfer with the bolt heads that hold the spindle on now. There is more than enough meat on the lug studs so no worries about weakening them.
This brings the hub mount surface in 5 inches on each side. Pretty simple to do. The hardest part was pulling all the studs that held the spindle on. Any questions hit me up I live in Placerville.

I can totally see what is going on now. Thank you for the pic, I should be able to pull this off when I do my links and make this less of a monster truck and more of a wheeler.

ONE LAST THING THE BEARINGS ARE THE SAME INNER AND OUTER THATS WHY YOU CAN FLIP THE HUBS AND THE HOLES FOR THE DRIVE FLANGE ARE ON BOTH SIDE TOO

OR RUN THEM OUT AND MAKE IT A MONSTER WHEELER. :Big Grin: I RUN MINE OUT TO KEEP IT MORE STABILE, AND FROM YOUR PICS YOU MIGHT NEED SOME WIDTH TO KEEP IT SHINEY SIDE UP. :Big Grin: HERES A PIC OF THE SPINDLE WITH BOLTS IN STEAD OF STUDS.

Mine are already out, but being 8'4" outside to outside makes some lines really tough and the turning radius sucks on the damn thing, I guess i could just hook up my queer steer.

My plan is to lower it and see how it all works without flipping the hubs and then if its needed I can turn them in get the rig narrower. If I can drop it down as much as I want and keep it wide it should be super stable, then it will just be a turning radius issue which can be resolved by unlocking the rear steer!!

I run the hubs flipped and 4.5 in BS wheels with 42's on 15x12 mrw's 88 in. outside of tire to outside of tire. Was able to slip through the gate at Barret.
Also kicked the frontend way forward to clear the oil pan.

I HAVE ABOUT 7" OF BACKSPACING, AND ITS 96" WIDE(8 FT) WITH THE 49s AND HUBS OUT.

I only have 5" of backspacing so I end up at an even 100" outside to outside. I bought the rims used and unfortunately thats what I have to work with. Once I lower it down I will decide which way to go. Milcrawl was the same width as me, but narrowed up with hummer rims and loves it, increased turning etc, but I like the stability so we will see.

Dane- what diameter rims are you running on that? With 4.5 in. BS my 15's just fit over the knuckle.

I was debating running 53's with zero psi and have the rockwells welded to the frame. It would be redneck funnay like a motherfucker, on the other hand it might be crazy enough to work. Hmm.....
