i've got the tank in my toy frame, and it's out in the open if you would like to take a look. i used the stock ford straps for easy maint. access to be done later if needed. i used an external electric fuel pump, but thats just my application. (insert mullet smilie here)

I've heard stories of the tanks going into YJ's. I'm at the point where I'm going to cut out and reposition a cross member but straps and filler issues are still a big mystery.

like i said, using the stock straps was easy. and right now it's bare frame, easy to look at, you'll get the idea just glancing at it. filler neck is on the driver side, put an elbow at the tank and it should run right up to your stock location.

Been a while since I completed this but thought I'd post up with some pics. 82 ford f250 tank, internal fuel pump, shortened f250 filler neck, used blue poly something flexable electrical conduit for filler vent, made tank straps out if some gavanized material, niether the fuel tank or filler hose enters the passenger compartment, seems I have a real problem with bieng covered with gas and flames. Oh yes you can run the fuel pumps at full blast and no back splash.

This is a 20 gal tank. Yes i guess I didn't have the driveline in in that pic but with the new 6" wheelbase stretch it gets me to 101" and wheels like a monster!

By the way your friends pinion angle looks wrong, Might be the fact there is blocks under wheels and pressure on the driveline but pinion should be ~ 4 degrees down with leaf springs and the pic shows it up.

Damn I showed him how to set the angle up and had set his d35 perfectly, ask him if he has any driveline vibration and tell him you can fix that!
