newbie here from marin ca. I'm currently building a FJ40 buggy:

4 seater tube chasis chopped up '75 cruiser with about 33" of frame left.:eek:

Chevy 350/th350/atlas 5.0

Front chevy D60 3-link with panhard. 4.56 detroit. 16" SAW coilovers Jounce 3" air bumps

Rear 14bolt mono-link with panhard. 4.56 detroit. 16 SAW coilovers. Jounce 3" airbumps.

PSC double-ended 2.5" ram full hydro with partsmike arms.

42" Iroks on Stazworks custom 17" beadlocks. Fullsize spare.

I live in San Rafael, work as a fireman in SF. I lived in Tahoe City for 10 years before moving down to the bay (baaaaaaaaaaad move, I know). My rig is at a friends house in Loyalton, where I come up to work on it about once a month. Hope to have it done in june......we'll see. lots to do i a few weekends of work.

Hey rock ape, the link you posted on the FJ40 build on reno 4x4 are what lured me onto this board........That trail looks plain nasty, and pics never do justice. Looks like the perfect place to test the 1-links breakover climbing ability. I would have to say it does not look like the place for a shakedown run :eek: . After we work some of the bugs in B2's backyard tanktrap and play around on Fordyce, I'll definately be into giving upper bronco a try....with some other BUILT rigs of course. Looks like I barely qualify with measly 42s!!!!

Its getting closer. Seats are mounted. Floor needs to be welded, all tube needs welded. Electrical will be easy as he got the super bling control panel from dude off pirate4x4.

Try to get some pics of his rig this week since Im house sitting for the folks. B2's rig is looking sick with the new suspension front and rear and the new spyder trac rear axle with the high 9. And I will get some pics of my new dana 70HD rear and dana 60 front.
