I have been having problems with the jeep for a week now. Driving down the road it starts cutting in and out like its running out of gas. I flip the switch on and off and its fine. But yesterday after work it just wouldnt start at all. After about an hour or so of wiggleing wires nad cranking it it started up run rough then no problem. This morning It started up I left for work and it did that surge thing and then nothing. I dont know which one is my fuse pump relay...there are 4 in a row in the pdc but the previous owner took the top off and that where they were labeled. Please help I gotta go to work.

Mine is real sensative. It does the same thing when Im running around 1/4 of a tank of gas, also if the gas sits for a few months. I started running premium and keeping it full.

I doubt it is a relay, they typically don't act that way. Sounds like the death knell of the pump. I just had a relay fail, the symptoms were no start unless cycled key several times. A pump motor when it fails will over heat and when it cools will act correctly.
That reminds me of what caused my fuel relay to fail.

Seems I mounted it too low!

I've got close to the same problem but not quite as bad. Something that you might want to look into is your ignition system i.e. spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap. This was something that was brought up to me when I was telling someone my issue. Guy said he was having some what the same issue and that's what his problem was. Just something to look at.

well I thought I solved the problem and it hasnt done it in a while...then I took the body lift off and it was worse then ever...realized on of my fuel lines was getting pinched...fixed that problem and it ran beautiful. Now it does it from time to time when you sustain a certain speed for a long time. might be the fuel pump geting hot? one thing after another huh?? I love jeeps!!
