Okay just wondering about flat top knuckles. I have a set that I can get from a Jeep Wagoneer Dana 44. The casting #'s on these knuckles are C36519 and C36520. Would these bolt onto my ford dana 44? Are these desirable or even worth it? I also can get a st of a ford dana 44 but its closed knuckle and I have a couple chevy dana 44 with flat top knuckles...the casting numbers are RC 36519 and LC 36520. I want to build a highsteer for the jeep to get rid of the hokkie steering setup I have now...as Quoted by Mightyram.

use the chevy flat tops. Hopefully you have the tapped driver side and the untapped passenger side. It is possible to find the passenger side tapped but very rare. If this is the case, send the passenger side to parts mike, he will tap it for a small fee, and buy his high steer arms. Parts Mike's tie rod end kit is also very reasonable.

If I'm not mistaken Parts Mike 's steering set up utilizes 1 1/4" .250 dom with your choice of ends.. beefy and reliable..and not too expensive..I think RAMV on Pirate has bought his latest links from him, and gives it good reviews...

Okay so if I get the flattop I want to setup a hydraulic assist steering. I have a steering box off a ford bronco. Can I tap the box to use for hydraulic steering? What are the ins and outs and who makes a good setup for the low down?

the only link I know of is for the chevy box, and they show where to tap into it, I saw it on pirate a while back and it's also on www.pavementsucks.com you ford fags and us dodge guys are S.O.L. as far as I know for knowing where to tap...AGR, REDNECK, PSC, all make boxes that are tapped and rated for the hydro assist... but $$$ is always a factor...get a junk yard box and tear it apart to see where to tap into it...but you gotta have the hydro schematics to know which is in-out....high pressure/low pressure...etc....:frown:
