View Full Version : Project TJ Trunk - For smuggling

So Dr. Smash has the TJ for a little project. I wanted some security for my tools & recovery gear in the back when running topless, and wanted something that could pass air through as well to keep the amplifier cool.
He sent me a nice sketch, then I realized yesterday the Power Tank would also need some stealth, so it is now being mounted on the swing gate. This will help if I ever happen to have a side bash/roll.
Here are some pics before, next FINISHED batch to come in about a week:

What's this talk about axles and shit?
And it seems like the tame trail vehicles see more dirt action then most built rigs.... at least around here :Big Grin:

That is only for a certain member with a BRIGHT yellow rig:wink:
Speaking of, they are giving away some cars at the night job. They have them displayed on the casino floor, oozing with quarts of afro-sheen.
BTW Rockape, they are ALL Nissan:mad::14:

Talked to Smash on Monday, hopefully it will be done on Fri 7-13.
I don't want the (temporarily) one-arm fabricator to hurt himself on my build, I would feel like sh!t.

Project complete::Big Grin:
It's done....
I love it:D. Gas shocks to keep the lid up, tie-down loops to put bungee cord when stuff is on top, big handle, recessed locks, and diamond plate. The power tank mounted on the tailgate lid is slick.
Thanks again Smash!
Best part is: it does not rattle at all with the sub cranked up all the way. The lid fits snug and has rubber weather stripping along the edges of the lid.
