it was fun today, just wish that my rig was done.. i had to go up to reno tonight still and got my new fuel cell and lines. and my box from balistic fab showed up this afternoon:cool:

that problem is being worked on as we speak!!!! im going to order some longer stroke air rams for my locker levers on the axle... if that doesnt work, then its time to pull the carriers and replace the locking collar.


thanks for all the pics guys!!! i had an awesome time, i really enjoy smaller groups of rigs... and its even better when all of us are capable enough to follow eachother and not worry about excessive breakage and damage.

its trips like these that make me happy to be a wheeler, and thankful that ive got good friends to throwdown with. its a good feeling to go home with a smile on your face after a rewarding day of full on good ass wheeling!!

Until he takes it apart we won't know for sure, pretty sure it was the shaft itself. He still has 3wd with the lockers engaged :18:

gawd it was scary watching him drive on 395 back to reno!!! i passed by him and his rear passenger wheel was just wobbling around...i was imagining the outer part of the broken shaft just slowly boring out the axle tube and then SNAP as his entire axle falls into 2 pieces. SCARY!

Talk to ROCKAPE, he may have a hook-up. Otherwise call Randy's R&P, their tech folks are very helpful and should get you what you need.

You should still head to a junk yard to pick up a stock waggy shaft for a spare.

Even though the diff is centered the shafts are different lengths (more knowledgeable folks weigh in here :cool:). You still need a spare for the passenger side rear.

I followed him all the way back to Reno and, Ya, It was a little scary. It wobbled more at slow speeds, but would smooth out around 55. Every once and a while it would start wobbling bad, and I was wondering if I was going to have to dodge his wheel when it flew off his Jeep:eek:

Yeah between the water in the front tires and the rear tire, it was feeling more like a paint shaker :) Going to rip into it today, dismount all 4 tires tires and pull the rear axles.

Well it looks like you guys all had fun, I was in Carson City until 4 am Saturday, and got back in around 10 am, left last night at 9:30 pm. Unfortunately we did not finish in time to wheel the buggy out for a test-run at P-Hill with you guys. But the buggy is alot closer to done, so we will see about next weekend :)

The sheetmetal is pretty durable, when every surface is flat. 5 minutes with a hammer, and a can of paint, and it was good as new:Big Grin: I'm pissed that I didn't pull my 4 day old bikini top off though, and it's fucked:mad: My new windshield glass is popped out of the gasket too, so I need to straighten the frame, and try to get it back in without cracking it:rolleyes:
I do need some tube fenders in front to protect the hood latches, as they were both removed. Even though my new wire latches work good:Big Grin:
