HOW MUCH MAINT. DOES YOURS GET???
I ALWAYS CHECK THE LIGHTS BEFORE EACH USE AND REPAIR AS NEEDED.
WHEEL BEARINGS GET PACKED ONCE A YEAR AND REPLACED AS NEEDED.
I INSPECT THE CHAINS AND WIRING BEFORE EACH USE AND CHECK THE BRAKES WHEN THE WHEEL BEAGINGS GET PACKED!!!
TIRE PRESSURE ALSO GETS CHECKED BEFORE I USE IT EVERYTIME,TREAD WEAR GETS LOOKED AT THEN TOO.....
ALWAYS USE TRAILER TIRES!!!!(EVEN THOUGH MY SPARE IS JUST AN OLD RADIAL CAR TIRE....:frown:)CAR TIRES ARENT USUALLY RATED TO HANDLE THE WEIGHT.....THEN TEND TO HEAT UP AND BLOW OUT!!!

thats about the same as what we do. only thing is(my trailer does not have brakes:eek:) its got that "surge hitch" where its supposed to brake on its own when it feels pressure and release the brakes when the pressure leaves.. it just does not work:frown:

I had RV's trailers for a long time.
Other than what Rockape posted I use to check the lug torque before each trip and after the first hundred miles or so. When I say I checked the lug torque I mean I gave them two ughs and a grunt with the star wrench.
I also checked the breakaway switch and cable once a season.
Sunlight kills trailer tires, even a piece of plywood will help preserve them. Check the tire sidewalls for cracks, the tread may look fine but if there are a lot of cracks in the sidewall you should replace it. I found out the hard way when I inherited my Dads blazer that tires can fail even with full tread.
On RV trailers once a year check the LPG hose and battery tie downs, I've had both fail. Also check the shitter drain hose, it really sucks when it gets a leak while you are dumping a load. (Yes that is the voice of experience :puke:)
