HERE IS SOME SIMPLE TECH...MOST PEOPLE HAVE NEVER DONE IT..SO ILL SHOW HOW EASY IT IS!!!

FIRST YOU NEED THE RIGHT TOOLS...

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c233/rockape81/100_2316.jpg
CUT THE BRAKE LINE TO THE LENGTH NEEDED..

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c233/rockape81/100_2284.jpg

USE THE DEBURRING TOOL THAT IS ON THE TUBING CUTTER TO REMOVE ALL BURRS..
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c233/rockape81/100_2290.jpg
NEXT USING THE CORRECT DIE FROM THE KIT,SET THE BRAKE LINE DEPTH IN THE HOLDING TOOL..(THERE IS A SMALL RIDGE ON THE DIE SET THE TUBE TO THE SAME HIEGHT...)
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c233/rockape81/100_2295.jpg
ONCE THE DEPTH IS CORRECT FLIP THE DIE OVER AND INSERT IT INTO THE BRAKE LINE...
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c233/rockape81/100_2297.jpg
ADD THE PRESS PART OF THE TOOL,AND TURN HANDLE UNTIL UNTIL THE DIE BOTTOMS OUT...
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c233/rockape81/100_2299.jpg
LOOSEN PRESS,REMOVE DIE(PUT IT AWAY AS YOU ARE DONE WITH IT...HERE IS WHAT THE TUBE LOOKS LIKE WITH THE SINGLE FLARE(MORE LIKE A BUBBLE..)
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c233/rockape81/100_2300.jpg
REINSTALL PRESS PART OF THE TOOL,LINE IT UP AND PRESS THE REST OF THE FLARE INTO IT...(THIS TAKES A LITTLE PRACTICE AS YOU CAN OVER-DO IT...)
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c233/rockape81/100_2307.jpg
REMOVE TUBE FROM HOLDING TOOL AND ITS READY TO GO!!!

IF IT IS WIDER THAN THE FITTING THAT GOES BEHIND IT YOU WENT TOO FAR...ALSO IF IT LEAKS YOU ARE PROBABLY OUTTA THE RANGE OF TOO MUCH OR TOO LITTLE....THE EASIEST WAY IS TO COMPARE IT TO A MACHINE MADE ONE!!!

No hardline just get brittle over time. Sometimes you can re-bend them, re-flare them. Other times they are just too set and twist/kink/split. Just the way it goes.

When I do them I like to put a chamfer inside and out. It helps reduce the chance the flare gets offset a little. Its cheap insurance.

WITH MY OLD SET OF FLARE TOOLS I HAD TO DO THAT BUT THE NEW ONES HAVE A LARGER INDEXING PIN ON THE FORMING DIE AND IT KEEPS IT CENTERED....HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO F-ONE UP YET!!!

I DID BUY THAT SET OF DOUBLE FLARE TOOLS FROM SEARS FOR $40(IT DIDNT COME WITH THE TUBE CUTTER...)

If I'm adding a line lock is it okay to re-flare the old lines? Or do I need to fab new ones?
NVScouter indicated that it might not be the best practice to re-flare, how say The Rock Gods?????

if they have any signs of rust inside(if you can see in there....)or out it usually is a good idea to replace the whole line....since they are relativly cheap its probably good insurance to replace!!!Especially for you non trailered guys that drive on the street!!!!:Big Grin:

I doubt the brake fluid was ever flushed before I did the front disk conversion so I'll take a guess that the lines are rusted. Hell everything else is rusted!!!
I guess I'll be learning how to make brake lines next. :Big Grin:

haha i'll pick that one up then...I kinda figured since it had some many adapters in the end its not really that much more than the manual ones since it seemed to be able to do what like 4 different kits could do.

I USUALLY BUY JUST A 6FT LINE FROM A AUTO PARTS STORE THEN CUT IT DOWN.

OR IF I AM DOING A WHOLE RIG I BUY A ROLL OF LINE FROM WWW.SPEEDWAYMOTORS.COM YOU CAN MAKE SEVERAL LINES.

FITTINGS ARE BELOW ON THE SAME PAGE....
