How many of you have welded on tube adapter without using a big bolt and lots of anti-sieze? I read somewhere about this so I got a 1 1/4" bolt and some high heat anti-sieze. When I was done the bolt was pretty tight, but got it out with no damage, and my joints slid right in with no problems :Big Grin: Anybody weld them on without doing this? Any problems?

I DONT USE ANTI-SIEZE ON ANYTHING(INCLUDING ALUMINUM HEAD SPARK PLUG HOLES.....:Big Grin:)
BUT I JUST PUT THE HEIM IN THE BUNG,WELD IT UP AND LET IT COOL...IF IM USING THE BLING HEIMS WITH TEFLON RACES I WILL PUT A WET SHOP TOWEL ON IT SO IT DOESNT MELT IT!!!!
BUT ITS A GOOD IDEA TO USE SOMETHING BOLT/HEIM IN THE BUNG TO KEEP IT FROM DISTORTING THE THREADS!!!I LEARN THE HARD WAY AND HAD TO BORROW A TAP ONE TIME!!!

You guys should check this stuff out, I use it at work a lot when i'm welding on trailers with big rod set hot to keep it from burning air lines and what not.
