So I finally found another dog. It's a purebred German German Shepherd (she's from germany.) 4 years old. Is AKC registered, knows a TON of German commands. Very well trained. The whole nine yards. I actually found her at the humane society and obviously scored. Anyway, we did a meet and greet with my chihuahua/terrier mix and everything seemed to be OK. She's pretty passive with him and only nipped at him a few times cause he's an onry, stubborn, possessive, asshole.
There was a few times when they kind of both got into it and growled and went at each other, but I was right there and yelled and she backed off instantly when I called her name. This morning as I'm getting up for work, she was kind of nervous in the house with the rest of my family as I was in the shower...so I guess her nerves were kind shot by that point, and splinter just so happened to walk out of the room...she sniffed his butt and he then started gowling at her like usual...this time though she didn't waste any time, and picked him up, tossed him around by shaking her head from side to side and finally dropped him. He went flying into the room yelping and bleeding with -- what appears to be one puncture wound. Brian stayed home today to check on him, and he gave her neosporin and ace bandaged it up. Has anyone ever had this happen?? Is it OK not to take him to the vet immediately, or will the neosporin heal it ok?
