yeah it was a blast. I need some sort of bump stop for the rear or to get my hands on the plasma again to cut some more room. its a good trail to just spend the day playing on bunch of different lnes. i will see if i can get back there this week to get more clear photos. Me and my son are planning to run it again next weekend.

Yeah it sucks when you only have full on trail rigs...this trail is pretty good. It has three or four waterfalls. Pics suck so its hard to really see. I plan to get better pics of it. Im surprised none of the Fernley guys are chiming in...its like in our backyards...:Big Grin: I mean its not upper bronco granted, but it isnt hunter lake or steves loop either....

Went backout today. Canyon looks decent. As luck would have it I lost my camera on the way back..I got a few camera phone pics. Next Sunday we are gonna head out early and run the whole thing and see where it goes. Not a buggy trail but something fun to do locally.

we are gonna go out tomorrow. We head ou at that road right past the bridge going towards silver springs. Probably same place you go. We plan to meet up around 9 on Sunday at truck inn. Probably wont be much of a work out for your buggy but its still would be fun. Plus you can pick differnt lines. Braian is trying to get Phil to tag along as well.

me, swamp donkey and zebaru went and played tonight. It was fun..nice to find some good rock areas in Ferntucky so we locals don't have to spend an hour in transport just to run some trails. I got to test out the winch and front end is still were it should be:lout: It took Travis a little bit of effort but he finally found the line and crawled up it. Not sure if my rig is ever gonna make that line as his rear steer really helped alot..but im gonna try again for sure.

That little climb suprised me. I just hit it straight on at first, and things were going well, but when I popped up, the passenger front tire was fully wedged under that little undercut rock. A bit of light throttle and nothing mooving made me back out and give it another go. Second try put me in the same spot...

So, I tried all the way right, but it put my rear too far in the hole and it just started hopping (and my ARB was unlocked...), so i worked my way over to the far left, where it finally hooked and pulled up after a minute or two of heating up the tires.

I defnitely needed my rear steer to do it, but I'm sure that a solid comp rig could easily do it without. Now, a full width, full bodied rig like the big blue jeep is going to have issues getting past that undercut side. As the dust and loose rocks get kicked out over time, it should get a bit easier.

This rock knoll is a great alternative to Moonrocks or Prison Hill - especially for the Fernley folks. We will certainly have to put more effort into developing the lines, and maybe convince the local comp guys to come have a visit.

Im still likn that "bonus" line that drops off about ten feet and then continues down the hill about 700 feet...Im kinda thinkin we go back there on Sunday and develop some more lines rather than run the unkown canyon. Or we could try and hit both..

And it defiantly made a big difference once you switched the arb back on.

I had so much fun there was so much untouched In that one spot. We should hit that canyon then if it turns out to be nothing there Is a nice little trail to take to that spot. I would love to see more rigs there to make more lines It's a solid place to play for hours!!!! that was a great time!!!

Maybe the size of a football field?

Compared to moonrocks or p-hill, the rocks are more distinct rocks and not so much slabs. The smaller ones tend to be a bit shifty, and there is nowhere near the traction as the other places.

It would never be a premier crawling destination or anything, but it a nice place to play and you can pull your trailer right up to the area - so no worries about breaking a mile from the trailer...

When i saved the pics off pirate both pics where called fernley 1 and fernley 2 so I been looking at areas between Fernley and reno..but a little bird told me too look further past fernely and now i see a few potential spots...so just like most of Nevada some exporing has to be done! With all the ranges around here I assume we have only discovered maybe 2% of the potential hidden areas! Close trails are always nice but more of a chance to get closed or paved over by tons of use..so we might have to branch out and since alot of guys have cushy towrigs I dont see a little travel as a problem for a sick trail.

Next weekend Is not to good but I want to go out and run those trails!!! I bent some of my steering and now I have some crazy death wabble:eek: but I have the new tie rod bar to put in and some how came up with a coolant leek.
