Anybody else putting together a streetrod of some sorts? I know Rockape has quite the collection going. Post up some pics. I'm getting started on a 32 truck with a Stroked 351c BOSS, C6 and a Currie 9". I'm trying to get it to a roller so I can move it and get going on my Jeep build.

Here's mine. I dunno if its classified as a street rod. 75 fire bird 400 with manual 4 speed. This spring I plan on replacing a few body pieces swaping out the rear end, re doing the interior and paint. Actually I bought it off wegojeepin last summer.

This is mine and my buddies 29 Model A we were building. We both had to move away(Navy), and it is now in Los Angeles in storage. 2x4 rectanglular frame, ford 9, 283 w/ powerglide, suicide front end. Unfortunately I don't have any other pictures of it. We are wanting to finish it, but it is hard when we are 500 miles away from eachother.

This is my buddy Archie's 32 Roadster we threw together. 32 fiberglass body, 283 w/3dueces, camaro t-5 trans, 70's chevy wagon rearend w/ spool, coilovers frnt and back. We didn't want to use a fiberglass body, but he is in love with 32's and we couldn't afford an original 32 shell on military pay. This poor car has been torn down and put back together more times than I would like to remember. Torn down to the body and frame and put back together in 2 days just in time to drive to Vegas from Fresno for the Rockabilly Reunion, barely put back together for the show where this pic was taken in Famoso(Bakersfield). It's had a 350, 305, and two 283's, a couple auto's, 3 or 4 rearends. The 29 would have probably been finished if we hadn't robbed so much from out stash for this one.

Pic from Famoso Nostaligia Nationals/Rod Show. Me and Archie were voted to be the "most likely to be drunk and past out in the car while being judged at the next car show"!!!

AAAHHHH, we got so much done in the 2 1/2 years my wife and I were divorced......

Damn, didn't know the 32 pic would be so f-ing big...sorry.

Yeah, we didn't want to chop it up, but we decided to anyways. bought off ebay for $2020, had to scrounge, beg, borrow, and plead for the cash, then drive to LA to grab it. We didn't think we would really win the bid. We did make back a few bucks. We ever so carefully removed the glass from it, which went for a few dollars to a few restorers. We used to buy junk here and there to flip, like a 1918 Dodge brothers sedan(the seperate cab type), model a wire wheels from old barns, shit like that. We even got a model A wire wheel that was a spare that never was used, still had the stamps on the tread. We didn't get rid of it, it's a shrine.

Really cool to see there are guys on here that build rats, it's a semi-dying breed. Now people build them for vanity, we built them because we loved them, had just enough money to build them, and the parties at the shows are awesome!!

That is a rad looking ride man! We had an original Sears and Roebuck bed that would have looked nice on that. It ended up going on the back on the 1918 Dodge we bought and sold to another friend.

My years are 28-31 model A's. I like them because not alot of people do. I am also one of the only people that likes the front of the model a's(cowl section) and the fact that it is smaller than the body. Also love shoe boxes, lead sleds and the like. My all time favorite hot rods are GASSERS!!! Jacked up, straight axled, big blocked with a tilt hood! My favorite movie of all time is 2 Lane Blacktop, big blocked 55 runnin' around racing for pinks and scratch. One day I will build one, probably a 57, 454, dual 4 barrels, with a D60 in the rear. If I ever get around to building a buggy, the gasser will probably sit higher than the buggy will!!!

I have a small soft spot for 60's stretch rides like those. We built a 63 t-bird, original 390, all door handles/trunk shaved, trim stripped and smoothed over, satin black and slammed!

I have lost most of my pictures from the past years. My computer died on me, and I have to dig and find discs and old emails with pics, wish I still had a few of it.

Some people like them with hoods, some don't. Me personally, I don't like them. Use the 32 shell and run it open. Highboys and what not look good with the hood top on them, but I like slam'd rats need 3 dueces stickin' up with crazy zoomies and shit.

Hey RD, this pickup carries alot of attitude and it will have no problem wasting tires :clap:you did a great job choppin down that hood and preportionally it fits well, but I don't think it carries the right lines or radius's for that '32. Here is my 17yr old foster kids and my project. Its a 51 ford original tow truck. It used to belong to his father ( who died in 03 ) we recently went and picked it up in roseville. Now the only this is what to do .................Go through the drive train and leave it rat rodded, find a donor with good skins and restore it ? make it 4wd and restore it, 4wd rat rod? Not sure what we are going to do with it yet but it should be cool I dont see many rat rod tow trucks around This still has the original hand crank for the sling. Ive towed more cars years ago with this than I can even count. Anyway just thought I would add to the thread.

My first car/truck ever was a '49 ford pick up, bought it home this exact week 28 years ago!
had a '48 for parts by the end of the summer, a '50 & (2) '51's in the next 3 years
2 went to parts, 2 were drivers, & that '49 never got finished, I sold it to buy a '56 chebby.

I always like those trucks, what's yours got for a motor??

Its a 350 - 350 combo, its been that way since i can remember 20+ yrs now. Cant count how many motors and trannies its been through though. I hope to find a runner 350-350 combo for cheap and just throw it in there for him so we can drive it around at least. We are still up in the air on which way to go like I said. Its been sitting for 7 yrs so it really needs to get a heart transplant at very least.

1969 camaro SS350 4 speed 3.31 12bolt open......all the goodies are still there except engine block isnt # match.....trans and rear end are correct to this car....plus its a disk brake car that someone converted the rear to disk at some point!!!! Its a runner, but needs a trans rebuild due to it being noisey and pops out of 2nd on decel.......:gapteeth:

Best part.... it came with all new fr clip and my choice of either the correct SS hood or a cowl induction....I chose the cowl hood even though it makes the car incorrect....

SINCE I HAD A TON OF FUN DURING H.A.N AND HAVE HAD THIS CAR SITTING IN THE CORNER FOR BETTER THAN 5 YEARS TOTALLY UNTOUCHED.....I FIGURED ITS TIME TO MAKE IT A DRIVER AND CRUISEABLE FOR NEXT YEAR....

1951 NASH AIRFLYTE 2 DOOR WAGON....
ORIGINALLY UNI-BODY...
NOW SPORTING A FULL FRAME/MUSTANG II 4 LINK REAR/NARROW 9"
FIRE WALL HAS BEEN CUT 6"SO A SB CHEVY WOULD FIT....
SHAVED DOOR HANDLES
350/TH350

http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af156/chassisworxs/NASH025.jpg

MY PLANS INCLUDE A FULL CAGE,POSSIBLY SHAVING THE VERTICLE PILLAR INBETWEEN THE BACK TWO SIDE WINDOWS SO I CAN PUT IN ONE SINGLE PIECE OF GLASS.(AND SMOOTH THE LOOK...)

HERES WHERE IM HAVING TROUBLE EITHER FINDING WHAT I LIKE OR THE LOOK I WANT....

IF YOU LOOK HOW THE BODY ROLLS DOWN AND PINCHES IN AT THE BOTTOM...THIS CAR DOESNT SEEM TO LEND WELL TO AN EXHAUST EXIT....SO WHAT I WANT TO DO IS CUT THE BODY BEHIND THE FRONT DOORS AND RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REAR TIRE AND PUT LARGE EXHAUST TIPS THROUGH THE BODY.....

SOMETHING LIKE THIS...
http://www.stylintrucks.com/part.aspx?partfamilyid=5589&partid=534774

OR

JUST A PIECE OF 4" TUBE ANGLE CUT AND CONTOURED TO THE SHAPE OF THE BODY....

ANY IDEAS??

If it's flat glass you can just make a pattern and have it cut at a glass shop. That's how I've had the last two windshield made for my FJ40, of course I had the old glass for a pattern.
