on the rules:
VII. Roll cages must be constructed of round steel tubing (D.O.M recommended) 1.5”O.D with 0.120” walls is required for the basic roll cage.
does this mean a min of 1.5" or is 1.75" not allowed?

We raced last year and there were two classes . There was a pro class which is what we ran in and I don't recall what the other class was called . It was a pretty fun event and John Goodby (Norcalrockracing.com) is a great guy . Last year was their first go at it and I believe they've learned a lot and we can expect to this series grow .

It means that bare minimum, you are allowed to use 1.5" .120 tube (DOM recommended since DOM is stronger) Hrew will work but remember to have the seams inward. So to your question you can use 1.75 but still use .120 wall

Yes to all the answered questions. It is run what you brung for now, until the events get bigger. The only thing that separates the classes is Pro you are racing for money and Sportsman your going for product and gift certificates.

Well you guys are luck because of as now the motor is still unhappy and torn apart. I am trying to get my motor guy to put it back together for me, but its not looking very good. Because of the track building I do not have time to do much wrenching. But we'll see.:Big Grin:
And it 2000 Internet HP. geeez :laughing:

Well, had a good time at the rock races this weekend. The majority of people broke their junk in the pratice laps, so it left only a few competitors in the end. The highlight of the day was Yoder climbing up the back of Ridgeway in Dereks buggy and rolling out of the rock pile. Some folks posted videos on PBB, pretty funny stuff.

The Save the Rubicon party at the bar was packed as hell. I'm not even sure how I was keeping my eyes open by that point, I started drinking around 8 AM......I still feel like hell!!

All in all a good time. Thanks to Goodby for putting the event on, hopefully some more NorNev folks will show up.....it's right across the damn hill a few hours!!!

But Round #2 is in two weeks and I am guaranteeing a $3000 Pro Purse.
Also I split the sportsman classes by engine displacement. 4 and 6 cylinders run together and the V8 guys will run. I also lowered the entry to $50.

Yeah I have 5 sportsman and all the same Pro's are coming back. There are others who said they sent there entry but I haven't received them yet. But should be bigger this time. I know if I had a half capable rig I would give it hell for part of the $3000 purse!!!

Great race....great event!!!! Yoder won the pro-class, and I think Phil from NLF won the sportsman, and took 2nd in pro driving Goodbys rig in pro.

It was fun, sun burn at 11 am, then rain at 3pm...... once again I saw a handfull of guys getting pulled over by the rangers leaving the event....hopefully everone was smarter this time, and there were no dui's;)

yeah that was how i Knew I was back in Cali...luck of the draw the truck right in front of me got pulled over..we were still on the dirt road. I have no idea what anyone could have done to get pulled over since we were all single file...commifornia at its best!!!!

As far as the event that was some fun stuff. I loved the roll in practice! A few more rolls and some broken drivelines, other than that just some fun racing!
