We are doing our best to have a Reno4x4 and Rock Gods wheelin day at the Throne. We are working on legal issues as well as insurance concerns. When we finally open the park to local clubs, the upper competion lines will not be open. Comp lines will not be open in all fairness to W.E. Rock and Calroc competitors. Please be patient, we really want our local people to be able to wheel at The Giants Throne.

Why won't the comp area be open? If its because competitors will go there and figure out the lines thats a stupid reason. I can name at least 10 places that have been comp sites for We-Rock or other organizations that are always open to the public. Cedar City is a public area and there are several competitors from that area that run We-Rock. Do they dominate when the event is at the site that they have wheeled at 100's of times? No. They don't do any better at those comps than they do at the other locations. From what I've seen over the past 7 years of competing it makes very little difference. Thats just my opinion and I'm not trying to start trouble, but I've never heard of any other comp site in the country that does that.

If there is another reason then nevermind. :gapteeth:

I think you should open the comp area to Reno4x4, TRG, and Cal Rocs competitors. That way anyone who competes there has a chance to come out there and play around/practice. I can see it being unfair if one person was allowed to drive on the obstacles and others were not, but if its open to everyone then I don't see a problem. It might influence teams to come out for the weekend if they had that opportunity.

Those are good points - it's not like the cones are set out, so why not?

Jessie do you really need the practice? The only thing i could think of besides outsiders whining that locals get to practice all the time is that maybe with the limited area and lines available that they are worried about them getting tore up or even being stacked so that certain people can say they climbed this or that...

Hell Blue, there were at least 15 rigs that should have stacked the last incline (it's not a waterfall) on Saturday...

When they see the Throne they'll shit themselves.

The upper section (shit themselves part) will be the only part closed, at least the way it sits now.

Well, Reno4x4 should enjoy wheeling the parking lot then...

Guess TRG will have to go to Moonrocks and Prison hill, or one of the other 3 hardcore local trails that beats the parking lot any day of the week...

Nah-dawg, that reserved for the hardcore. I'm talking about the lower base portions of the Throne comp area. You know the couple of courses to the left of the cathedral?

Nope, and if I can't go watch Jesse roll off the bad ass lines I don't think I want to go.
