So... now im thinking about competing in Calrocs but i have a few questions as far as what do i need safety wise.
i know both spotter and driver need helmets, but what type is sufficient to what is preferred?
will i need a fire safety suit?
2 fire extinguishers
is there a "time limit" or "usable life" for harnesses?
points work?:
+10 for cone
+1 for backup
-1 for clearing a gate
can you "point out" or is it only a 10 minute time limit?
do all we-rock rules apply as far as requirements for a rig..
for the reno event, how much do you typically spend for the whole weekend?
ill give glen a call if i am for sure going to compete.. right now im just seeing if its going to be feasible for this year...

THE MAIN THINGS THEY LOOK FOR AND YOU SHOULD HAVE......
MASTER KILL SWITCH,EASILY REACHED FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE RIG.
SUPPOSED TO BE 5 POINT HARNESSES,NEVER SEEN THEM CHECK DATES
CATCH CAN FOR ALL YOUR FLUIDS,THOSE BELLOWS ARE OK FOR THE DIFFS
2 FIRE EXTINGUISHERS.....
BALL VALVES ON FUEL SYSTEM
I DONT THINK CAL-ROCS HAS GONE TO WINDOW NETS YET BUT I THINK THEY WILL NEXT SEASON......
HERE IS THE RULE BOOK CAL ROCS USES....
http://www.werocklive.com/forms/rulebook_09_pro_mod1.pdf
$250 ENTRY FEE.....AND GAS AND FOOD IF NOTHING BREAKS....IT COST AT LEAST $500 TO GO TO BROWNS VALLEY(WITH THE ENTRY FEE INCL ).....GIANTS THRONE.....LESS THAN $300 W/ENTRY FEE.
POINTS SYSTEM...
IS JUST LIKE YOU HAVE IT...AND YES ,IF YOUR POINTS REACH +40 YOU POINT OUT AND ARE DONE....GATE CLEARING DOESNT COUNT UNTIL YOU FINISH.......
NOW IF YOU TIME OUT THATS WHEN CLEARING AS MANY GATES AS YOU CAN COMES INTO PLAY.......SO YOU CLEARED 2 GATES AND TIMED OUT.....
+40 FOR NOT FINISHING BUT -2 FOR CLEARING 2 GATES YOUR SCORE 38 FOR THAT COARSE.

Its a good time, and not that expensive. More than likely you could run your buggy as is for the first comp. They might give you a few warnings for changes that need to be made by the next event.
Depending on the courses they set up, comps can be pretty rough on first timers. Since you know some of the other teams in the class you'll be able to get help with strategy. If you're smart about it and don't get over your head you won't tear up your buggy, and it will be a lot of fun.

Fire suit is a requirement, $100 at summit, will work for both CalRocs and WE Rock. WE Rock checks helmet suit and belts. Calrocs.... Not so much.
