Hey everyone! My name is Bryce, and I've had my 84 Toy since I was 17. I moved up to Reno to attend UNR when I was 18 and haven't done any "real" wheeling since I've been up here, I've driven up Peavine a few times to go shooting along with other random dirt roads around the area. But I haven't been to any of the popular trails. I would really like to find something that is relatively easy to do since I'm still running an open truck on 32's. Any suggestions on good places to go that are fun yet still easy seeing as my Toy is my DD? It'd be great to be able to check some places out with some others that are into wheeling and know of the good spots.

Thanks guys.

He said open and 32's.

Lower Bronco with some challenge, Twister, Bud Canyon winching the water fall, and Steve's loop might require some winching. Everything else is open trail driving.

Schoolbus Canyon is great for a mostly stock trail ride with a few entertaining obstacles. I try to put together a run there every year, but I dont always get it done...

I think getting out of Bronco open would be a fair challenge anymore. I've seen plenty of rigs with just one locker really struggle on the exit climb.

It's been a while since I saw a longer wheelbase rig go through Steve's Loop open, but I know it can be done with a bit of skill and luck.

That said, if you want to see what you can do, and how far you are comfortable pushing your rig, either one is a great place. Just make sure to hook up with a group that doesnt mind taking their time and helping out - and have good tow points...

As much as I hate to say it - reno4x4.com might be a better place to get in on some runs more suited to your rig. Much more likely to find a group of small tired wheelers over there... Though it seems that nobody organizes any trail runs any more...

I like slow technical wheeling. I have marlin 5" springs up front with stockers in the rear with a lift shackle...I have some Chevy 63"s but made the stupid decision to buy a PS3 instead of steel to make new spring hangers for those chevy's. I also have 5.29's uninstalled and am waiting to save enough money to buy a locker and 35" KM2's or Wanglers with Kevlar, (Haven't decided) before I do have them installed. No winch or front bumper, but I do have sliders and an All Pro bed. However, I'm not too worried about bending/scratching up some sheet metal. :Big Grin:
