I'm having a little trouble on what tire to buy. There going on my 82 suburban, its only a $20 difference. Just wanted some suggestions on which tire would be best for this application. Any input is better than none!! Thanks for the help. http://therockgods.com/forum/images/smilies/dunno.gif

what size wheel? i would assume since its a suburban you will want at least a load range D tire, but it also depends on what you are doing with it. a little more info may be needed to select a good tire for you and your needs.

BOTH ARE A PRETTY AGRESIVE TIRES AND WILL DO WELL OFFROAD.....NOW TOWING.....I COULDNT SAY.....
I HAVE HAD MORE THAN ONE SET OF THE OLD STYLE MTRs AND HAD NO COMPLAINTS OTHER THAN HOW THEY DID IN DEEP SNOW....
THE KM2 LOOKS ALOT LIKE A KRAWLER.....AND ARE WELL SUITED TO CRAWLING.
FOR PURE OFFROAD PERFORMACE IM SURE YOU WILL BE HAPPY WITH EITHER!!!!:gapteeth:

id go with a LT315/75R16/D works out to be just under 35"(which most 35s dont measure true 35" anyway) then you can get at least a load rating of D if your going to tow a little bit. i know Raddonkey has a set of KM2s on his truck. that is what i would vote for.. i dont think either way you can go wrong

if you can get yhe old style MTR I'd say go with that I have been more than happy with mine but I also have some KM2's but I dont know how they handle yet cause I have yet to wheel with them but they are a nice lookin tire I have also heard they have a weak sidewall though.

The KM2 has the same sidewall as the Krawler, not too shabby. Any tire will go flat if you punch the sidewalls into sharp pointy things that make them go flat.
Does anyone know what Kevlar does to protect against sidewall punctures?
Nothing.
Regular nylon, like Blue's leisure suit, provides the best puncture resistance. :gapteeth:
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the new MT/R. It's a very good tire. I'm just saying don't buy into the marketing hype.
