so im trying to get my car ready for the 9th to race and am in dire need to get a tranny this week to have installed this weekend. i have a 4wd tranny that is for my buggy build i could use but its a 4WD tranny and my dad robbed the pump out of it, so i would have to buy a pump and convert it. i have 3 tranny guys down here that i know that can rebuild it and "TRY" to have it to me by friday so i can have it in the car saturday. or i could go to scummit whom i dont like going to and i can get one right off the shelf. depending on what my 4wd tranny will cost it is right around the same cost. and the scummit tranny doesnt have a core charge either. the point being im trying to keep my biz local but at the same time i need a tranny this week. what say you? thanks!

SOMETIMES IT JUST COMES DOWN TO WHO CAN GET IT TO YOU......SUCKS......AND I TOO LIKE TO KEEP BUSINESS LOCAL.......

JUST THINK.....SUMMIT EMPLOYS LOCAL PEOPLE!!!! BETTER THAN SOME KID ON THE NET DROP SHIPPING PARTS FROM HIS MOMS BASEMENT IN IRAQ!!!!

thats true, i called them because i had a question about the auto/manual valve body in the tranny, the guy on the phone was saying that it will upshift just fine but you have to manually down shift it as it doesnt have any provisions for a kickdown? how the fawk does that work in a street car?

YEAH THATS THE DOWN SIDE TO TRICK VBODIES....MOST OF THE TIME YOUR AUTO ISNT AN AUTO ANYMORE!!!

ERIK THE TRANS GUY IS CARSON DID A MOD TO MINE WHERE IF YOU SELECT MANUAL 1ST OR 2ND IT WONT UPSHIFT UNLESS YOU DO IT MANUALLY....BUT IN DRIVE IS FULL AUTO!!!

HE TALKED ME OUT OF A MANUAL VB......

yeah, its not a total manual just doesnt down shift with a kick down. i picked one up tonight along with a 2k stall, some glass packs and some reducers for some exhaust. new tires will be in tomorrow:Big Grin:
