Probably the sooner the better. Its been gettin' pretty damn cold up here at night and I got a real funny feeling about this Fall (SNOW SOON!!! :yup: ) Get your date and time figured and post it up then we'll get an "Official Fo-dyce if your not Scurred" roll call goin'. Please make it any weekend but Columbus Day weekend. I will be gone that weekend. Choose any other weekend and i'll be there, even if it is just for the day.

its gunna be goddam cold, so bundle up ladies.

considering that there is over a month of advance notice, you would expect that a good portion of all of the crybabies, mall crawlers and "well im ORDERING a lift for my jeep..." guys on reno4xj will be able to make it, maybe even the TARDcore 4 will be able to take their dicks out of eachothers bungholes for the weekend.. it sure would be nice if more than just us showed up, wouldnt ya agree joe??
(btw, my neighbors takin the weekend off to go also... assuming that the whole having a baby thing wont get in the way.. the due date is like 1 to 2 weeks after that weekend)

either way im lookin forward to a sheetmetal manglin and axle bashing weekend

I like it much better than the Rubicon, it's the reason I'm building up my Cruiser. In my limited experience I'd say it was harder. Last year a guy did it in a stock FJ40 with 31's an open front and an Auborn rear. He beat the crap out of that rig, but he made it.

I read an old pirate post that had some pics from last year, basically 200 cfm is the max you can do it safely on 35's. I saw some pics that are just gnarly. 500cfm is instant suicide, if you look on the graph you just missed the slow season by less then a week. They must be releasing alot to make room for this winter. I'm going to be heading over the mountain tommorrow, if you want I can stop and look at the first crossing off of eagle lakes exit.

This is the pirate post I was mentioning, http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=258565

It can put it into perspective for you. Check out a couple pages back and check out the guy who rolled his YJ, probably something you want to consider if your going to do it :)

Sorry for the poor information Joe. :( I should have just posted the link to the flows and not offered any "advice". I was going off memory and thought that 320 did not sound that high but apparently I am mistaken.

I've found that the water crossing at the "shortcut" is usually a little deeper than the other two crossings you have to make to get to the campsite at Winch Hill #2, but the bottom is all rock instead of sediment so you don't have to worry about churning it up. Sounds like you will have fun whether you make it across or not.

J/k, yea im going in eagle lakes, and following that road (like cypress or somethin, starts with a c) that goes straight across the creek. I would imagine it the right road since the options are rather limited, im leaving pretty quick so tell me how to get there the right way.

Anyways my edit button broke..? The cisco grove exit has only one road that shows it going straight to fordyce lake no river crossings. Now the eagle lakes road turns into carlyle that has a 4wd road that branches off of it, crossing fordyce creek 4-5 times. I'm assuming that's the trail but I'm not sure. I guess I'll check them both out, but daylihts dwindlin so I gotta run!

Well anyhow, sorry I'm posting this so late (comp problems) but I went to the fordyce trail today to try and check out the river. After exploring cisco grove exit I determined it didn't start there, so I took the eagle lakes exit. About 1/2 a mile down the road I saw a sign for an OHV park, turn there and a dirt road takes you to a staging area that has two nice bathrooms. Further down the road (pretty nasty road btw) you come to a fork that has 3 signs, one says pierce OHV area to the left, and on the right there is a sign saying "this trail has beed adopted by the fore dice club and 3 others. The third sign points to the right and says "Foredyce Creek" that way. So I go to the right and right away I'm regretting not airing down and disconnecting, the road is in pretty rocky shape. I go across three dried up creek crossings that are obviously difficult in the winter time (lots of winch marks on trees) after some mild rockcrawling I came to a sign that said I was at the 2 1/4 mile mark on the trail. Not much farther I'm getting uneasy about continuing on alone with possibly no help coming (dog was going nuts, really really regretting not airing down or disconnecting) So I flip a ***** back to the staging area, and I'm takin some pics of the signs and a couple quads come up, so I ask them if they made it to the river, and they said yea, it's really flowing, one of the quads almost got washed away, they met someguy named Pat from stockton in a big black yota with a winch that was all alone. The trail looked well used, lots of fresh tire tracks.

So I ask them about the river more and he tells me it would probably come up past my floorboard (the quads decided not to go through it all the way) Which I measured tonight as 32". Also he said it was about 5 miles up the trail.

So no pics but it sounds perty hardcore, if you guys need directions or a guide to the river I can get to it with my jeep.

Also if you go that way after the first y there is two more before the river, stick to the right on both of them. One has a wooden sign on it that says Jeep.
